Sandblasted and oh so not happy

Yo Yo Yo!

On the way to Vegas last week I went through a small, yet somewhat fierce sandstorm. Totally unavoidable and the damage is pretty bad.

Windshield
Headlamps
Grille

So far from what Ive seen the paint is ok.

Todd painted a new grille for me, so now Im sporting the all white/black bowtie for the time being.

I would like to ask if anyone knows a process to buff out/remove/whatever the windshield and the headlamps. As we all know the grille is chrome over plastic, I doubt anything can be done about that.

Thanks in advance.

you might try BonAmi cleaner It is like a real fine pumice and know some people use is to polish their windsheilds. I have not tired it yet. Believe someone on the forum did mention it in another thread also. http://www.bonami.com/uses/intro.html

I got caught in the same wind storm, in a different location. Pretty much the same damage, with the windshield getting badly pitted. Please post back on your results.

Don,

It maybe able to work the micropits out, but will the windshield remain optically clear after doing so? ie, change from pits to a distortion. Just a thought However at any rate it's a less expensive option to try than replacement.
