Cool, Jerij, what did you use for the lower grill??

The majority of air is now designed to come in from the bottom of the front end, not through the grille. How about all of the GM cars in the 90's that had most of the front end covered? They didn't overheat. As long as you have air flowing through part of the grille area, and if you have electric fans at the radiator, IMHO, you're going to be okay. If it doesn't work, you take them back off.

The grill is the Carriage Works grill. I bought it because it was the cheapest knowing I was probably going to either succeed in altering it to my likes, or destroy it in the process.

The "chrome" bands are wide body side moulding pieces cut to fit (sorta) and 3M taped/glue gunned over the outer frame. I'm going to replace the bottom strip to get rid of the mounting holes (they add to the cheese factor), round out the end areas and hopefully apply a thinner chrome strip around the side&lower perimeter of the opening.

I'm not a metalworks expert so fabricating something out of metal is probably not going to happen for me. The Carriage grill though supplied a very good frame/attach point for the bands though.

Still, you did a good job jeri. Now we have at least a "realistic" idea of what bars would like on the lowerer end. Like you said, it is not perfect, but it is a very good representation of what a lot of us would like to see. Keep the reports coming and for a DYI, you did very well.
