Question Shifter knob swap

I'm thinking of swaping out the stock plastic shifter knob. I need to know if that can be done and where to get a good one. I've read all the posts about the short shift kits I dont know if I could do that kind of work myself. how much would labor be to have one installed in my 07 HHR LT. any help would be grand!

Yes, many have swapped shift knobs on both auto & manual. There are a few threads on it covering both I am sure. Where to get one just depends on what you want. There are tons of parts houses that carry vast arrays of shift knobs, so it may take some searching until you find one you like.

You could have a shop install a short shift kit for anywhere from $60-$150...give or take, depending on the shop, as it's approximately 2hrs work. However, it is relatively easy...if your mechanically inclined it should be no problem to do it yourself. One of our vendors makes a great kit and has detailed instructions with pictures that make the install practically foolproof....you could go that route.
