That's the funny thing about silver, it can bee a mile deep gloss in person, but photographs 'flat'.

Black looks great in photos, but we all know how it shows ALL imperfections.


Guess that's why so many show cars are red......

First car show I took the SS to, the guy next to me said,"god must love a man that can keep a black car shiny". That car is shiny! can't wait to see the hood.

I'm with you on that. I've been painting, wet sanding, and polishing cars as a hobby for nearly 30 years. Never used a paint thickness gauge. I've never had any issues with going too deep, or with clear coat failures. Not even on the old acrylic lacquers, which were very thin. At first, yes, but you learn from that.

I practiced on old cars that nobody cared about before switching to my "good" cars!
