Speedometer doesn't light during day

Actually turning your headlights off during the day should make the dash brighter.
When the DRLs are on the dash should be at its brightest, when at night with headlights on it should be a little dimmer.
It sounds like to me that your night lights are always on, you may have a faulty auto light sensor like mentioned above.
Easy way to check that is to get out of your car and look at the tail lights, if they are on low your night lights are on.

What I meant was get out of your car and see if your night driving lights were on, which means the DRLs are off and the dash would be dim.
The dash is much dimmer at night as to not distract you from the road.
oh, and I may have miss read something.
The dash lights as a whole are off during the day with the what ever that dash LCD is called being on bright. Then at night the dash completely lights up and as a whole is dimmer than just the LCD during the day.
My bad, that’s what I though he couldn’t read. As in direct sun, the LCD is unreadable, with the night driving lights on.
