Just an FYI -

Aftermarket guards do not have the "lip" that the factory ones do. I have seen both on HHR's and the factory ones protect the sides of the car better. The lip extends the guard out where the wheel is. The aftermarket brands allow all kinds of shiznit to get all over the sides.

Yes some folks have painted them to match. I totally dig mine black since I have a summit white car. I have a definitive white and black color scheme going. They really round out the wheel wells and if you have the car leveled/lowered it makes it that much better.

I haven't even bought the SS yet and I've got mods lined up to spend more money on. My wife isn't going to be too happy about this..... :)

Mine went on in a few minutes, paid around $70 from a dealer here in town. Go with the splash guards instead of the $10 mud flaps GM sells.

Ordered a set of the molded ones today. Will post pictures after they come in and get installed.

Molded splash guards on mine, too. Ordered from GM Part Direct. $58 for set of 4. A breeze to put on. I did the install and a tire rotation at the same time.

Do you need to remove the tire to attach the mud flaps?
