Splash guards
I just mounted my flaps and they were easy.
After turning the front wheels out [no need to remove the front tires] . Remove the two fenter retainers. You will want to cut these as the fender tabs will bend. Old remove the lower bolt.
Then place the two supplied clips screw the top two screws in on the front flaps and then hold it back against the ground FX.
Then take a fine tip Sharpie and trace arount the FX onto the flap.
Then take an razor cutter or knife and make one cut along the line. THen retrace it till it cuts through. THis will make for a smooth cut. and the shape will be very close to the FX shape. You do not have to worry about the fender as it is the same on any HHR, only the FX is different.
Then put all the screws in and the one bolt and your done.
On the rear hold the guard up in place and drill three holes using the guard as a guide. Then remove the three push locks in the fender liner.
Place the metal clips from the guard on the three holes you drilled and then replace the three push locks to secure the liner.
Now place the guard up and screw all three in and your ready to go. The guard is a little lower buy lines up great. No cutting is required. You will need to remove the rear tires but other wise it is a no brainer install.
Also if your buying a new SS after you make your deal ask the dealer to include the Guards and a rear bunper step guard as part of the deal if your interested in them.
I made a great deal on my truck and then still got them to throw the guards and rear cover in free in the back of the truck.
It is a good way to get your guards free.
Do not have the dealer install them as they will not take the time to cut them and just tell you it can't be done.

I did not do any cutting of the rear guard.
You either have to cut the rear guards to let slide up high enought to meet the holes or you need to drill them in about one inch lower in the same mounting tab in the rear fasia.
I saw no need to cut the guards when three holed a side just bolted right on.
Either way works and is just up to the installer to decide what is easier.

In the middle of installing mine right now (taking a break to recheck any needed info here
)
Took all 4 tires off on mine (time for a rotatation) and made the rears a breeze to do(just wish the bottom tab on the guards woulda went somewhere on the SS tho
)
Ready to install/trim the fronts, hopin' i can trim them nice enuf as not to look too butchered up
Gonna take my time (all the while wishin i had a lift instead of floor dwellin' doing this, it sux getting old , LOL)
and will be taking pics to show off the work/mods i did during my vacation soon(Griot's polish/wax work,front window tint,guards etc., etc) with b4 / after pics .
Well, better get to gettin' around here, the fronts ain't gonna trim themselves

You remove a couple plastic pins that hold the fender liner, then replace them with included screws and clips. You can also drill and put a screw on the underside, but most people dont find that necessary.
