Ive been wanting to try this but I didnt want to risk going through the factory clear. Ill have to keep an eye out for finer paper, 2000 is the highest I can find here.
About how long did you sand each spot? Did you use any kind of sanding block, or just by hand?

 

Dumb question, but where's your car in those pictures?

 

About 10 strokes on each spot (more or less). You have to check it frequently by running a squeegee across it until all the high spots have lowered.
