I can't believe he spent all that money on paint and kept drum brakes up front! Otherwise, like Crowbar said, that Impala is Bad Ass!

I'd have at least painted the drums black.
But I see what you mean, it is not stock any more, so why pretend. Probably a budget issue.
He also had his family in the car and it is a work in progress. They were all proud of his work. He did the painting himself. He has some talent there!

I put disc brakes on my '64 Corvair and it looks stock. No one would know it can really stop now thanks to '78 RWD Dodge Colt/Mistu discs. Took a lot of effort to figure them out, but we did id it!

that is real true modding putting discs from a different car and making them work

i painted my real wheel drums along time ago with flat black temp paint and forgot i even did it

it was one of the first things i did. the rear drums had already gotten rusty

Thanks CJ. The rear drums on ours are rusty, flaking, and just looking nasty.

I'm going to do the sand it and paint it black thing as well. I'm hoping someone comes up with an affordable rear disc kit for us. The kit would need to work with the ABS and traction control to work across all platforms. Time will tell..................

Added the 3/4" chrome molding above the running boards. Pictures don't do it justice, but it looks really nice in person.

Cool Deb

Looks nice That's exactly like I thought you were going to do. The lower chrome sure helps bring about a better flow to the car. I'm going to add the strips you did to my boards as well as keeping the ones I have on. I'm hoping it will not be overkill, but we'll see

First I have to get some more 3/4 " chrome. It does not grow around these parts though the producer is in-state an hour away

I'm thinking of becoming a distributor of their products as no local places stock thier stuff.

Thanks for the photo. I know what youm mean by it not doing the mod justice. The lower chrome does not scrweam at you, but actually brings balance to the force in a subtle , yet eye peasing manner
Keep up the good work!

I'll post the next chrome mod in this thread when I get it done.
