Hiya.
I have the in-channel vent Visors and like them for their look and function. That said, I am scratching my glass on the drivers side with each open/close cycle. The in channel design presses against the glass since it is wedged between the rubber and glass. I try to clean the area, but it frustrates me. Just the top tucked away area is getting scratched, but it should not.

The in channel rear one is also smaller than the ones that mount externallywith tape. If you want the entire rear door window covered and not JUST the up/down portion, then you will need to get the tape type Vent visors.
Either ones will greatly enhance the vehicle's looks and provide a bit of rain protection. They allow you to keep the windows open a crack and still keep most of the bad weather out.

I do prefer the overall look of the in channel ones since the ones I got came down past the driver's mirror. I may change the rears to the tape design since I purchesed a set from an online vendor and the front ones came broken. This vendor stuck me with them hiding behing hours of transfereing my calls to centers in India and never sending RA info etc, Beware of some vendors, Most are cool, some just suck.

was sure which to get

I got the ones from GM, at least this way if installed at a GM service they are warranted as well as the car. The stick on with tape and not in the channels. But it all depends on what you like.

If you do a search, there is another discussion about this. This is the first I've heard of anyone with problems from the in-channel visors. Most people prefer the look of them, over the stick-on type (which is what I have).

Actually you can purchase in-channel vent visors that do cover the entire rear window. Weathertech sells them. If you do a search there are threads on them. Here is one from another member:

I have the in-channel ones that SoCalHHRs sold, they are made by a company called egr. I love the look, and as far as function they allow you to keep the windows cracked without allowing someone to reach in, & keep some water out when it is raining & you are running through a drive up.
I mostly got mine for the look & the extra shade they provide from the sun.

Oh, & by the way, to another SUMMIT WHITE owner 'tleslie'!!!

Those are the same Vent visors that SoCalHHR used to sell, and are the ones I have on mine. They are in-channel visors and work very well.

See "backwards" jeremy's post above for a pic of them installed.

I have the ones from SoCal (made by EGR) and my glass is being scratched as well by the in-channels.

The glass in the HHRs is el-cheapo crap so it's not surprising.
