Stick with the stock size, or go "+1" - which is 225/50-16.

That's about all you need to know...

I HIGHLY recommend Hankook H-105's. We have been running them over a year now and they handle fantastically is all weather (*except, there's no snow here! ).
SUPER smooth and quiet riding tires - turn on a dime. A++++++++

Find specs here: Hankook Ventus V4 H105

Best of luck,

I was really happy with my 16's. The 215/55 refers to height and width I believe.

Just keep in mind if you go up or down in height, you will change the accuracy of the speedo, mpg and everything else related to it. It can be flashed to make it right though. I had to do that when I went with 18's that were a little taller.

That Tirerack link has given me some new ideas... though it lists that I can mount a wheel with an offset of +40mm.

Does the offset not have to be precise; just the bolt pattern?

Anyone know of a website out there; that'll show me what these RIAX Fontana's will look like on a Black HHR. I know what they look like on a dark silver...

But I really want to see an example of that they look like on a Black HHR. I have a local tire shop claiming that they can get the Gunmetal ones, but I am thinking that the Silver might look better on a Black HHR then the Gunmetal would, but I want to actually see before I make that decision...

The following is a fun wheel site, you can pick a HHR(or many other vehicles), pick wheels, change wheel size, change tire size, lower vehicle, change color of vehicle, paint vehicle, stagger (different size front vs. rear), tint front windows different shades,

although RIAX wheels, not an option, try going to American Racing pick Shelby Razor (similar style wheel), have fun!!

Finally broke down and convinced myself to order a set of wheels last night.

Ordered the 17" RIAX Fontana's in Gunmetal. Took me awhile to find a set at the right price; turns out these Fontana's are in high demand and RIAX has a backlog on them; resulting in a lot of places putting them on a 4 - 6 week backorder.

I found a set on Ebay though

It still may take a week; maybe 2 weeks for them arrive however....

Now to worry about the tires!

I'm looking at a set of Falken Ziex ZE-512's... they seem to be the best value for my current budget. Once those are out of the way then its all a matter of just finding someone who can mount them on the wheels cheap.
