Wheels, these fit?

Hello guys,

I would like to know if these rims would fit. I am looking at the 20s by 8.5 Rouges. Would i have any rubbing problems with these or not i noticed that one guy on car domain has them on his HHR. Thanks for your input.

yes they will fit. i'm not sure what offsets people are using for HHR's i think i heard 40 something some where but ET35mm should be ok. i would advise to not go larger than 18's and that seems a little extreme, but i don't know what it'll do to your gearing. you may want to recalibrate the speedo if it seems off too. i say go with 17x7.5 and a 225/40(or 45)/17 tire

I had those wheels in 17 by 8.5 w/35mm offset. They didn't rub until I installed Eibachs. Also, I didn't like the way the 35mm offset looked on the car. They stuck out too far, I prefer a tucked look. The rear wheels were out beyond the mud guards. I would stick with a 42mm offset and narrower wheel like a 7 or 7.5".

this has been beat to death,
i have 20x8.5 lowered, trimmed the rear fender lips and no problems. yes you have to run a 30 series tire but if you watch where your going that wont be a problem either

i don't know how different offsets look on the HHR, i've messed with roughly 20 sets of wheels on my gti when i had it. american racing doesn't offer a wide range of offset options, they make what they think is right and you buy it. if it sits in a little too much, get spacers, if it sticks out too far... depending how far, you can roll the fenders or trim them. i personally would go with a different wheel that maybe has different offset options per diameter/width. i do also understand that the aftermarket is limited for this application. i used to sell american racing wheels and have never been a fan other than the original torque thrusts. good luck though and be sure to post some pics.
