Why is STOCK embarrassing?

We all bought these great cars, didn't we? And if you read the polls, the main thing about it was the general LINES of the vehicle. So why do we now state that we're embarrassed to say the car is STOCK?

So you didn't get bitten by the mod bug? So? You have an HHR!!! It's so special, people stare as you drive by.

So you can't afford to "soup it up" like you'd like to -- how many of us have NEVER been able to do this before (me)?

Would you actually stay AWAY from a G2G because your car isn't "special" enough? Haven't you noticed by this forum that the car didn't start the whole thing -- we started it, we were special enough to buy the car AND find and stick with this forum.

COME ON!! You know you're weird and cool, or you wouldn't be here!!!

I know that the G2G's here in AZ only have a couple of cars with any mods done to them. Most are stock.

Although I've done a fair amount of mods to mine, it still looks stock, since most the mods I've done were to add things that I didn't get when I bought it.

The only significant "non stock looking" mod you can actually see is my lower grille insert.

Cheri....

I'm not sure about the answer to the mod question. I think most people do "things" to their vehicles, just to show it's THEIRS.....at least that's why I do some different things.

I only want to personalize my HHR. So significant mods planned at this point.

At Solvang we had from stock to wild. The same on the Monterrey run.
It's about getting together with fellow HHR owners.

I have to say that IMHO the mod thing has gotten out of control. To the point that people on this forum actually complain that there are not enough "MODS" being produced for the HHR, and somehow the HHR is doomed to a short life because of that.

I may be in the minority but I like the way they look from the factory. I like 2 of the stock wheel styles (polished and painted 17") and haven't seen ANYTHING that looks better. As far as the grill goes, again in my opinion NOTHING looks better than stock.

Anyone that would buy a roll of plastic chrome molding and run it from front to back and pretty much anywhere you can glue it on has issues or at least is "customizing challenged" again, my opinion

It is OK to drive a stock HHR. I, for one check out every one I see.

Stock = boring. Who wants to be like thousands of other vehicles that look the exact same as you. Stock vehicles are for people who don't really care about what they drive as long as it gets them from point A to point B. You don't have to spend hundreds of thousands but you should at least make your vehicle yours somehow.
