Why is STOCK embarrassing?
I have to say that IMHO the mod thing has gotten out of control. To the point that people on this forum actually complain that there are not enough "MODS" being produced for the HHR, and somehow the HHR is doomed to a short life because of that.
I may be in the minority but I like the way they look from the factory. I like 2 of the stock wheel styles (polished and painted 17") and haven't seen ANYTHING that looks better. As far as the grill goes, again in my opinion NOTHING looks better than stock.
Anyone that would buy a roll of plastic chrome molding and run it from front to back and pretty much anywhere you can glue it on has issues or at least is "customizing challenged" again, my opinion
It is OK to drive a stock HHR. I, for one check out every one I see.

I have done a few mods on NEMO, woodgrain on the inside....,
But I still look over each and every HHR that I see, even at the Dealer, That one I do not know why,,total stock there.
I did mine cause, well, I have seen so many SOM's out there/in Tampa 10 as of this date.
And I wanted NEMO to be different.
I have never done any mods before on any car/truck/suv that I have owned except for the vent visors and running bds/step bar on the Exlporers.
Need to be Different.

I didn`t want to repost #1, but how can a person who has done so many mods to their ride, even ask a question about not modding?
I couldn`t figure out the punch line, I think the author was being tongue-in-cheek.

Doesn't matter, We are what this board is all about. Just think, If all you had were modders, then you (and me) would all be the same. I like diversity. Yes, I am one of the ones that bought the car for its looks as stock. But I also found that subtle changes were enough for me. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing what others do to their HHR's and I don't have a prayer of doing some of that stuff. But diversity is sooo much better.
I don't think it is embarrassing at all. We are all part of the same community.

Got it
The only thing I'm embarrassed by is my 17" polished rims.
I hate riding on stock rims even if they are the upgrade top of the line ones. I sick of seeing them on every other HHR. I wish I had black rims but getting new rims isn't high on my current priority list. Maybe next summer I'll get new rims if I still own my HHR.
