Window weather guard advice

I'm considering purchasing the window air deflectors (or whatever they're called). Requesting some advice. Best brand? Best price? Best type...in groove or not? I've hunted and pecked around in here looking for preferences; but hoping this'll be a little faster. Thanks.

I just put in the weathertech in channels and they are sweet! I think the company MacNeil that I ordered from is in Canada also. They are very slim profile and the in channel look is super clean.

Best brand??? .............................. I've got EGRs
In channel v. stick on?? .................. The EGRs are in channel
Best price?? .................................. EGRs are only going for 27.50 now!!

If you want the rear door piece to cover the entire top of the window, go with the Weathertechs. The EGR's and I believe the Lunds's will leave that small area uncovered, like the jx3's pic. Its all personal taste. I went w/Weathertechs

It really is personal preference.

Most people will say to stick with the in-channel visors as they protect your paint unlike the stick on ones.

As jx3 pointed out, however, there is a sale on the EGR in-channel visors right now and for $27.50 for all 4 pieces you just can't beat the price.

The Weathertechs are pretty popular around here as well but they cost 3 times as much.

Here's a pic of the $27.50 EGR visors I just put on last weekend. If you don't like that they don't cover the whole back window then you should go with the Weathertechs.

as said above, the EGRs can be had for very cheap, but many also don't like the look of the rear window guards not covering the whole window. for a look at the WeatehrTechs, i've got a couple pics in this thread over here https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/appearance-modifications-discussions-6/3rd-brake-light-weathertechs-15810/
decision is up to you. mind you, the WeatherTechs are just over $100 for the whole set (at least buying from them directly, don't know about prices other places)

I have the EGRs as well...I think I am getting used to them although they do cut down on your vision quite a bit especially when making a left hand turn...the area down by the mirror seems thicker and deeper than it needs to be

Also make sure you clean your windows and the channels of your windows to get any grit, grime or sand out of them..I didn't do that on my back passenger window and I put some scratches at the top of the glass  Not to mention..they make a not nice noise when closing fully..do you think if you take them off eventually that the window will not seal as firm due to any expansion of the window channel at the top?

JX..iirc you said you were over 6 foot...is your vision impaired at all? I imagine you sit higher in your HHR than a lot of us

No the visors do not hamper my vision any that I can tell. Just looking around the "A" pillar with/without the visor is the problem.

Goose 06-23-2008 03:55 PM

True..it is a wide pillar....noticed more scratches on my front windows today from the visors...anyone else have this?? I think recall at least another person saying the top of his windows were getting scratched

Gee what a bummer for post #2000 :(

I got EGRs and I love them, (in-channel) they also weathered very well through a particularly rough midwestern winter and have been on my HHR for a year now with no cracking or scratching, they fit excellent and look sweet !!!
