Brought mine in to Windshield World to have a ding repaired ($50) and the guy who worked on my HHR looked at the manufacturer label on the windshield and said that their company didn't use that company for replacement windows because the glass was 'cheap'. He told me a replacement windshield for my car would be from another manufacturer (PPG?) if I decide to eventually replace it. After the repair there is a very small mark that looks like a bug splat where the chip used to be. A better alternative than paying the price for a replacement windshield since the damage was low on the passenger side and not in the driver's line of sight.

What luck, on the way to work has something hit the front windshield. I didn't see anything when I got to work, but went out at lunch and now have a "L" shape crack about 10" long. Replacement is $726.00 for PPG, that hurts.
The class shop says the gass is really cheep, from Mexico and doesn't hold up. IT meets factory standards, but just isn't good. Have to wait on insurance before it is replaces. There doing freeway work around my house, guess I'll be taking the side streets to work.

Interestingly I took a good sized rock to the windshield of my HHR two (2) weeks ago.

My windshield shattered at the impact point as well with an intentation the size of a quarter. A crack then began to radiate out in both directions several inches from the original impact point.

I had it changed out last week at a cost of approximately $814.00, including parts and labor.

Regards,

HHRANDY

I got a ding from a semi blowing a bearing out and it hit me. I didn't get a chance to get any pictures of it though, the insurance company had someone waiting for me the next morning and I was out of town so didnt get a chance to grab a pic. I was going about 90 and it was a small ding though.
