Remember that headlights are made out of the same material as your paint clear coat, so care for them like you care for your paint: clay, polish and seal/wax and they should not get hazed or yellowed :)

Should being the key word. Since I've always waxed mine. HHR is the only vehicle this has happened to me.

Everytime I wash my car I put Plastx on the head, tail, and fog lites. My 09 HHR is 4 years old this month, and the lenses look brand new. I also put Back to black on the rubber and plastic.

Thanks I'll give that back to black a try, since I can't find any pig spit.

I use Mothers restoration creme on the lenses, and have used it to bring back a couple sets with surface and discoloration problems, this set looked tired before the Mothers.

Just a follow up, I need to redo again. Got a couple of years out of it.

my 2006 is starting to fog. I am worried that sanding starts a series of ongoing treatments. Good to hear Solman's lasted 2 years. That is what i would hope for.

I heard elsewhere, toothpaste, and ordinary rubbing compound works too; but adding UV protection is critical.

Thanks for posting

Read somewhere recently(of course I can't find it now-GRRR!) that putting Rain-X on plastic is a big no-no! Anyone else seen or heard anything about that?

Sassy's driver side is starting to haze just enough to notice it but it's still too cold here to do much about it. Why is it always the driver's side that starts first? Same thing with my 04 Z-71.

note to self: I have gots to find my propane huntin' heater!

Technically, I think the headlights are made of Lexan.

I don't recall anything about plastic.
