07 LT, New HU install....

I have a 2007 LT, the stock radio is finally going out. So time to replace it. I do have the built in sub-woofer, want to keep it, also do not have On-star. From researching I need GMOS-LAN-04 for the wiring. This will keep all the bells and whistles etc. I have the dual din fit kit and will be using aftermarket radio from the wrecked hhr.

What im searching now is how to get a little bit stronger (louder) sub for the stock box.. Along with replacing the speakers that are starting to crackle.. Which i think i can pull the after market speakers from the wrecked car as well all should be same size for the doors, im assuming.

Crutchfield can narrow down your choices for fit based on your car.

I hope the retinal surgeon can do something about my floaters; it is annoying have blank spots in your vision. Appointment next week.

You could add your own amp.

That’s what , I was thinking, some posted awhile ago about replacing the sub woofer , and the new woofer was much better.

Thats what I was reading too, that the stock could be replaced, just very limited what it could be replaced with. Thought about adding another smaller one and amp to, nothing serious, just a little more "bump".

Im using crutchfield now to see what all i would need for the door speakers.

the wiring unit GMOS-LAN-04 is crazy priced.. but it is what it is.

Are you sure you need the GMOS-LAN-04? There is another, Crux CS-GM11B, that doesn't have OnStar support which I think you said you don't have anyway. Might save you a few bucks.

I see it now, i clicked onstar on accident when looking at crutchfield with my phone. 100.00 is better then 140.00, i need to go check the wrecked car and see which wiring kit i put in it, might save me even more money lol.

Cant find a cheaper alternative so I can keep the chime, stock amp etc.. So looks like im going with the Crux CS-GM11B from crutch field. Its snowy season, so work slowing down, time to get some work done on the cars..
