oh and if you plan on changing out your head unit then you might as well run the remote up there while you are at it.

yeah eventully im going to put in an indash dvd flip out and all some screens in the headrest....so when i do that i will definatly add the remote wire....But for now the factory head unit works great for my mp3s
IM going to wait till a complete wireing harness and dash kit becomes avalible before adding the aftermarket H/U and screens

Jaydogg, yeah, I was surprised too! Not once, ever, have I installed a system without having interior or exterior rattling, but Shnog surprised me! Yeah, my door panels are sound-deadend, but the rear hatch area is for the most part without it for now. The hatch flexes about 1/8", as do the rear quarters, but they do it silently, lol.

Slammed, nice work man! As far as the remote goes, you'll definately need to use the remote line. Use a test light and find a hot circuit in your fuse-box that stays hot while the radio is on, even after you shut off the ignition, until you open a door. (Retained Accessory Power). Shnog's in the shop right now, so I can't give you the exact fuse number, but I believe it's #6, for the factory amplifier.

This forum has got to be by far the best for HHR 411 . Not only that, I wasn't about to pay $35 to access the same type of HHR info .

By the time I have all my gear ready to put on, I'll know exactly what fuses/wire to tap and install should be somewhat painless. And with all the reviews from you guys/galz, I'll already know what to expect.

Big thanx for the Audio Gurus, in no particular order, Jaydogg, Tokyo (Edo), SoCal, Howdy...and anyone else I may have left out. Those of us with the need to know appreciate it...

Now what to do about the sub???? Fab, Pre-Fab, Stock, enclosed...
