add amps and EQ's to existing system
Hello I am new to this forum but have come here at times and found answers to my Questions and would like to thank all that have posted. My name is Milton and I own a 2009 HHR SS. I have built a system before and it worked out great now i want to do the same in this car. I want to come off the outputs of the factory amp and add 2 amps and 2 EQ's have already replaced all speakers including sub. my question is 2 part, one is this, is the Pink wire on the connector the remote turn on? and two is does anyone have a picture of the connectors on the factory amp, as in what wires are what? I already have all wire and all components just need help with these 2 items.
Thanks I hope to here from someone soon.

When i installed at mundys in Gainesville , i was able to get a diagram from our suppler. I would go online to metra,s site and pull this info directly from them . This would be either for integration of alarms or factory taps like what you are needing. I suggest you drive to America radio in c u m m ing , ask for Scott paterson. He can help you with any thing you need. He has been very helpful to our build.

What is your final goal? How many mids, highs, sub etc?
I would suggest getting rid of the factory amp, and running 2 line out converters from the factory head unit. Front for one channel, rear for another (i bought a pac sni-35 and sni-15 for this) they turn the speaker wires into rcas
Then you have a front and rear rca from the head unit.
Now what you want to do next is get a 3 way crossover (not and equalizer) that will have 3 sets of outputs (sub, mid range, and high)
Run some speaker wires from the tweeters to the head unit and those will be the high channels. I suggest some vifas. Cross them at about 2-4k.
For the mids in the doors, stock ones will be fine. Stock tweeters are actually decent if you put them on an amp (they are 10x louder and clearer this way)
Now you will need a 2 channel and a 4 channel amp for this (i fit all this under the cargo area lid) as well as a sub amp.
Hope this helps

i do appreciate the tips but i have competed in SQ before and always built my own system. I am using 2 Kicker amps, a Kicker SS component set up front, 2-8"Kicker mid bass and a Kicker comp vr8 for the sub and i will be using a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 to process the sound. The 3sixty.3 is going to allow me to come straight off the factory amp as it flattens the signal and still keeps all other components in the factory system working. just posted here to get the info on the pin outs off the amp. Once again thanks to all that have contributed.
After looking at your install MsBecky i would be embarrassed to post any pics. I only have some components mounted temporarily i am waiting in the 360 to finalize the lay out on my amp rack. This is a stealth install as I travel quite a bit and don't want anyone to be tempted to break in. I put all components under the rear storage lid on a 3/4 piece of plywood that will be covered with black cloth to match interior. I think i might have to put a fan back there but well wait and see. i'll give you a heads up when I get the 360 installed, but it might be a while, not in any rush to get this done. By the way very nice install keep up the good work I would love to hear it when its done and tell Scott Milton Fisher said hello the next time you see him.But only if the Scott you are referring to Scott Bowalda (excuse my spelling) I used to run a 94 Astro in SQ in IASCA and USACI and he would help me out now and again.

Just checked on delivery time for 360 it will be here today. I guess i have no more excuses now and will have to dive in and finish this thing, not looking forward to tearing this interior apart. If I can remember I'll post a couple pics of finished product.
