No noise, all channels working, the 3 sixty is configured, and I have a good starter tune in place. will work on the tune a little more tomorrow to finalize the starting point then listen to a few of my setup disks over time and start fine tuning. it already blows away the factory system and i am looking forward to going to a few competitions when I get it dialed in. So i guess that is going to end of this post will try to get some pics of the install posted but it might take me some time. Its been fun and thanks to all that helped out with advice.

ya I now i guess i just had to take a break from it for a while it was starting to consume my life but it is kinda like cancer once you catch the bug you can never really get away from it. I guess its time to get back out there and see some old friends again and see where this build stacks up against the competition, see if i have lost my touch, but first and for most get back around some people that enjoy car audio, win, lose, or draw, as i used to tell everyone its about the people not the trophies, if you are in it just for the trophies your in it for the wrong reason. Friendship beats a trophy any day.

well thought i would post an update. The system is working very well other than a slight pop on power up every now and then, but i'll get that figured out (minor). Greg if you are reading this let me tell you about the stage, I took a long shot when I did this install as you know and decided to leave all speakers in there factory locations just to see what the stage would turn out like(hoping for the best)and after some minor tuning let me tell you the windshield is full of sound, do not detect anything below the side windows and the sub is dead center against the windshield, the stage is from the top of the dash to above the rear view mirror and starting to sound quite well. Will be working on tuning for a while but so far its starting to separate out quite well I have a defined right, left and center and the center right and center left are starting to come together a little more every time i tune a little more. Hope your install progress is where you want it and I hope it comes out great i'll want to hear it when I get back in town. good luck with yours bud see ya when I get back.

Call ya when i get back after I chill, good luck with your system I hope you don't have to chase the grimlens out like I did.

well the tuning on the car is going slow, had to take the rear door speakers out of the equation could not get a clear mid bass or lower midrange. Now that i have done that the lower end is clearing up quite nicely. I think i'm looseing my touch in my old age though i am having more difficulty getting the system balanced, both right and left and tonally but it is getting there. I finally got the bass up front and clean that has been a challenge, remember all speakers are in stock locations so im trying to do this the hard way. (Typical Me)I can tell this is going to be sweet to listen to once I get it dialed in, volume seems to be there and even though it is not dialed in tonality it is 100% better than stock. Im getting close just going to take a little more time. after all it needs to be perfect as i have competition out there that i am trying to match. And you know who you are. (Greg)
Two completely different installs trying to achieve the same result, but i really think this install can work. Will keep you posted.

Greg, i mis posted on time to be home looks like i'll be home the second week of November, I'll get in touch when i get home.

This is an update to my earlier post, i have discovered that there is something wrong in the cross over setings in the 3 sixty.3 i think, i was thinking since i did away with the rear speakers that i could set the tweets on HPF at around 5k and up and the front doors on LPF from 5k down they will play down to 50hz, once i took the front doors off of a bandpass filter they came alive. I spent about an hour tuning the system and i am very close, Highs are good, as is midrange, mid bass, and sub base. I'm a little scared about the unit holding the cross over points so i might just install the cross overs that came with the Kicker ss series when i get home as it is past the point of returning the 3 sixty.3 and everything else seems to be ok with it. the car is starting to sound amazing got a few tweeks in the upper mid bass and lower midrange and i think i'm done until i get someone with some experience to listen and help out to final it. I have a clear Right, Left, center, and even a decent right and left of center, not great but decent.
So for anyone that is thinking of upgrading speakers and amps in a HHR it can be done leaving speakers in there factory locations and using the stock head unit. You just need to spend the money for a quality set of components and a digital processor and you to can enjoy great sound in a pretty sweet little ride.

ps: Greg, i'm not scared any more i think it might hold its own against yours, not saying equal just close and i will be happy with that. these comments are just in the fun so please don't get offended. Even though we are not actually competing if i look at it that way it pushes me to do better, but i do want to compare the two when i get home i think it might even surprise you. Stay safe my friend catch up with ya when i get home.
Milton
