Aftermarket HU question about sound quality?

I was thinking about getting a Pioneer head unit. Right now I have the base am/fm/cd w/ 6 speaker setup. Will the aftermarket HU sound better on the stock speakers or will it be to much highs and mids? I know I will need a Subwoofer to balance it out I was thinking about a Infinity Basslink. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you buy a good enough HU it will have a eq, which you can adjust your mids, bass, treb. Most likely your deck should push around 40wX4 to 50wX4 wich isnt going to blow your original speakers considering that they probably use the same speakers on the system powered with the amp. %0watts usually is around 17rms give or take a few (no more then 5). But you should be find just make sure you get a preout so you can add an amp if you ever want to add subs.
