Aftermarket Stereo Install ...oh good grief
Bought a used 2009 Chevrolet HHR, and I am trying to install a Dual Electronics XDVD276BT stereo.
I have been wrestling with Scosche GM3000SW wiring harness until I figured out that the "SW" meant
steering wheel controls - there are no steering wheel stereo controls on my HHR - so I took it back.
While testing the wires, I could not find the ACC wire from the stock radio harness.
I finally got the Scosche GM3000 and the box was supposed to come with an "A" "B" and "C" harness,
but instead it came with two "A" harnesses and a "C" harness... no "B" which is what is required.
So I took it back. This has been very frustrating.
So I am now looking for solutions...

There is no ACC wire in the harness. It is a digital signal that requires a GMLAN module. The Scosche GM3000 seems to be the correct black box.
The module will also retain the chimes as they come from the radio. Crutchfield.com has everything you need including FREE online directions and help.
If you are OK with no warning chimes, turn signal clicks and retained power you could use one of the fuse positions marked "spare" on the BCM, they are all switched.
Reading the directions helps:

I do like the bells and whistles... so audio cues are good.
The introduction of the GM"LAN" module has me curious.
I will look at Crutchfield.com
thanks,
