Aftermarket sub-woofer popping with power off

I just installed an aftermarket amp and sub following the procedures documented at the top of this forum: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/audio-video-17/how-hook-up-amp-sub-woofer-setup-without-affecting-existing-premium-sys-10944/
Everything works great. The issue I have is that, after I turn the car off, the sub will pop after a minute or two and then continues to pop, one time, every few minutes. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this or has any thoughts?

so it pops every couple of minutes with the car and amp on or off?

If you have poping while the amp is off... that should be a faily easy find...

The amp powers on and off correctly when I start or stop the car. It also makes the same sound when I start or stop the car but does not occur after the amp is on, only while off. I tried moving the ground to a new location but this didn't have any affect.

could be an issue with the headunit... could be a problem several things...
when the amps pops with the car off does the amp momentarily turn on/off real quick?

You may have a bad ground. I think you will notice that when your car is off and you open the door the stereo will light up. I still have my factory deck and aftermarket everything else. Anyway when yo open the door (any door) the factory remote wire turns on the amp. I havent quite figured this out yet? I thought it might have something to do with the chimes, because they cant work with the stereo off due to the way Chevy designed it. Take a look and see if this is whats happening. If it is then you have a bad ground causing turn on/off thump.

Don't patch into the radio fuse BTW. It's nice, as it retains power with the radio, but "pops" when you get in or out of the car (as it sends power to the radio for the door chimes)

Find a diff remote. wire?
