It did turn out to be the ground. I noticed, as tahenke mentioned previously, that is was the amp powering up briefly every time I would open a door, turn key to accessory, etc. that was causing the sub to pop. I finally moved the ground to some clean metal (under the cargo tie down hooks in the back) which corrected the issue immediately. Amazing how that works !!!

Question sub hum

A week or so ago I installed a complete new audio system in my 09 HHR starting with a new head unit, speakers in all the door and a nice little sub in the back... well not so little,Ha,ha anyway, I've got the same pop that was mentioned in other comments but I also have a low end hum when you power up the system...driving me nuts! I'm gonna change my ground tomorrow and see if that fixes it...wonder if it has anything to do with the capacitor I'm using??? hummm any ideas????
