Why are you not using the existing harness wires? Why not find an HHR wiring diagram and use it? They have been posted many times. Or, just ask. However, my sense is that a diagram is just lines on paper (my wife's description of a map).

Crutchfield is a great resource for free installation help.

Because once you unplug the radio you need to plug something back into the existing plugs . My harness did that but like I said something doesn't seem right will invest in the harness oldblue sent link to before i mess with it again and when i go outside I will see if mine has a subwoofer / amp before ordering. I don't know if all tis gurantees a radio but at least fire department won't be coming to my house gain today like they did before Lol

do where can i find that hhr wiring diagram this may help me know whats going on i'm not an expert in scematics but I just completed HVAC classes so i'm getting better at it maybe enough not to have a fire

You should not need to cut into the wiring harness, just connect that adapter and follow the directions.

That is the adapter I was talking about. It keeps your chimes and you don't have to mess with power wiring. GMrc-lan-03 is a generic part that can be found cheaper elsewhere.
