in dash dvd

okay i'm looking to install a double din touch screen dvd player in my hhr.i dont want to lose the factory chime.what exactly is the damn factory chime?is that the "open door" bell?is it really needed?where can i get a wiring harness?if anyone knows anything that can help me......let me know.

Most stereo places can sell you the harness or order it for you. The one I used the the metra harness. Soundgate also makes one that works.

The factory chime is everything from "door open" and "seat belt" to "turn signals" and "low fuel" chimes.

There is a "low fuel" chime??? I never heard it. - I have gotten the "low fuel " warning from the DIC.

Sorry for the hijack...

Back to DVD ... That would be a cool mod...

Yep, there is! Once this certain point is reached, the chime will sound every couple of miles and upon starting the vehicle, until the fuel is added.

Just get it direct wired if you dont care about chimes and do not have Onstar/Amplified system you save yourself $150(what the metra harness costs) by doing direct wire method.

thanks alot everybody.when i finish hooking up my HHR i will post pics.some say 20" rims on an HHR is toooooo big.in NYC its only the beginning.
