Driver side speakers died on '08 HHR

Hey there everyone, recently the door and dash speaker on the driver's side stopped working in my '08 HHR. Did some looking around and found out the dash and door speaker are wired in a series circuit, so I dont know if its the door speaker thats not working or the dash speaker. Since they crapped out on me I figure I might as well upgrade the speakers with something better, so if anyone could give me some input as to what to do it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! , Eric

Thanks for your response! I do have key chimes, turn signal sounds and the seat belt chime. I did notice that they are very quiet and at times I can barely hear them. Does this mean that speakers arent completely gone? When I have the radio turned on theres nothing coming through them.

Thank you for your response. Yes it is a base audio system; how are you liking the sony's?

Speakers

Just replaced all four on my 2011 and it was a pretty painless process.

I purchased the speaker wiring harnesses from Crutchfield.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207101...s.html?tp=3097

Here are the speaker adapters.

http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-SAGMHR.../dp/B0015A8Q7S

They made the install easy. I saved my stock speakers and if you
want to put those in until you decide on speakers let me know and you
can take them. If you cover shipping they are yours free.

I also have the build sheet from Crutchfield that will show you how to
remove the door panels. Let me know if you need a copy. I will scan it
and post it here.

Thats great to hear! I was worried that the install part would be hard. Thank you for your generosity, I really appreciate it! I'm buying speakers to put in sometime this week, I'm leaning toward the Pioneer TS-A1684R A-Series speakers. So I'll go ahead and buy the adapters and the harness too

Yeah if you dont mind making a copy that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
