Easiest, no-sub, way to install an amp? Do I even need an amp?
I'll be installing a Nakamichi NA788 HU (24 watts/ch) and Infinity Ref-6500cx component speakers in my '09 LS non-Pioneer. I started thinking about adding an amp when I do it. I won't be installing a sub-woofer, so I'd like the easiest place and way to install the amp. Any ideas or expeiences would really help.
With 24 watts, do I even need an amp? The Infinity speakers need 5-90 watts RMS, the Jensens 2-70 RMS. I don't need door-thumping bass.

Well, give it a try with just the head unit and speakers, if you really need it loud then get an amp afterwards.
Mounting an amp you have two choices, most mount it in the back close to the battery and run signal wires from the front.
There isn't much room but you could try mounting it somewhere up front if its really small and run the thick expensive power wires from the back, since you are only doing front speakers.

Thanks SS and prod. I will skip the amp for now; I don't really need it loud, and the Infinities are very efficient. I didn't realize it had to be powered right from the battery; I guess placing it in the back makes the most sense.
