factory sub upgrade to a 10"

I did some searching around and did not find anything. I was wondering if anyone has used the factory sub box and amp but switched out the 8" to a 10" sub. I realize that some modifications will have to be made, but I thought before I started this project I would see if anyone has done this. I was thinking of putting in a JL audio 10" Wxv2 into the factory location.

fIt could be done, but there isnt enough depth in that location so you would have to build it out with spacer rings or mount it inverted or something, and probably trim the 8" hole to 10".
However I doubt you would notice much difference, as the stock amp is only putting out 40watts or so. Also its made for dual voice coils, each putting out half signal, so dual voice coil sub is best. With that sub, Id definitely upgrade the amp.
