Coming back from the shooting range yesterday and the temp was just about perfect in the San Diego area! So I ran all the windows down and cranked up the Pioneer head unit, way up and was grooving to the sounds of Ted Nugent and rolled to a stop light. Heard someone hollering to "turn it down dammit" and I looked to see a Honda full of teens staring at me.........left the sound up!

The premium sound system and amp in these cars is pretty darn good!

The first summer I owned the HHR, I rolled into a low rider show, blasting Frankenstein by Edgar Winter, a surprising number of the other attendants came over and asked when will that be on ITunes, and where did you find that track, very cool!

I got a thumbs up from a carload of young guys one afternoon last summer in Charlotte, it was a 75° day, so the windows were all down in Paddy when XM started playing Tone Loc's "Funky Cold Medina".

So I reached down and gave the volume knob a twist towards Bloody Loud!, and as Paddy's mirrors went fuzzy from the pounding bass through the factory Premium Audio subwoofer...these kids all of the backwards hat, Fast and The Furious Generation started hooting and yelling "CRANK IT OLD DUDE, CRANK IT UP!!!.

I could have done without the "Old Dude" part, but what the heck, I used to shake it with the ladies back in Law School when that song was out.

Although my tastes run more towards Zeppelin, Mott The Hoople, The Kinks, Dire Straits, Queen, Nazareth, Thin Lizzy, Blue Oyster Cult, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchett, etc.

 

Let's not leave out a great window and mirror shake'n band, Steppenwolf ! Born to be wild!
