MP3 players satisfies my need for commercial free sound, but as an added alternative to Analog sound, HD Radio is something I've been considering as an alternative to Satellite Radio.

It's subsciption free + it interests me for the multicast capabilties. Although local stations have HD alternatives, they haven't fully utilized the multicasting capabilities..And I haven't seen or heard an HD installation to form/influence a decision to buy.

Has anyone investigated HD Radio? Installed? I've only seen one "universal" adaptor on the crutchfield site which connects to a factory unit and the easier alternative - an aftermarket HU w/HD radio.
