I had the exact same problem. I was using the spare key and had the same type of start up problems after installing an amp. I think the car remembers the last key that was used to start it, somehow.... Glad it's back working

So your original key still won't work? That is a different experince than I had. Once I got mine started with the spare key, regular key worked just fine.

actually, i tried the original key again the next morning and it didn't work, then i tried the spare immediatly after and it seemd to take longer than usual to start cranking........but then it started

now i'm afraid that something will happen such that the spare key won't work either, i'm waiting until i get to the dealership to try the first key again..
