Help on replacing premium system

Need some info from those who know. I've searched the forums but I've gotten some conflicting info and wanted to make sure I got the right stuff. My wife has given me the ok to install my old Alpine head unit into the SS. I've also gotten a good 5 channel amp from a friend at work who wasn't using it anymore. I've already replaced all the Speakers with JL and will probably replace the sub at the same time that i do everything else.

I've read on some sites that if I don't plan on using the stock amp the GMOS-LAN-03 is the adapter i want. I don't have Onstar and don't plan on ever getting it. However I have read a few threads that mention a need for the GMOS-LAN-04 beyond just ONSTAR.

Question 1 is if I plan on replacing the stock head unit and taking RCAs to a new 5 channel AMP do I want the GMOS-LAN-03 or the 04 model

Question 2 I have the steering wheel controls. What parts do I need to integrate that into a new alpine head unit.

Thanks for the help.

If you call crutchfield they can answer these questions for you. I replaced all speakers and added an amp. The old amp runs the door speakers (infinity) and the new kicker amp runs the (kicker) subwoofer. So I didn't need any adapters accept for the line level converters. I do think you will need the adapter to run the bells and buzzers.
