Help trying to install headunit
i purchases a wiring harness from the stereo shop here in rochester, they told me it would be a plug in and go situation. that has not been the case. BUT the harness does not continue the ground, red, or yellow wires! which from what I can tell yellow needs a direct connection always with power, red needs to switch on with the key turned, and then ground obviously grounded.
I am about to try to run the red through the fuse box and through firewall i think, and now that i'm thinking i could connect the yellow directly to battery if it was not in the trunk. so i will have to find a wire that is constant power and splice the yellow into that?
does that make sense?
I really appreciate you taking the time to help me and not just sending me off to another website. THANK YOU!

When I was having problems with my radio {turned out to be the speakers} I bought a wiring adapter from eBay that was just plug and play.
I didn't have the chimes but I decided I could live without them while I had the cheap Clarion stereo in the dash.
I ended up putting the original radio back in and replacing the speakers and all is fine now.
