What head unit are you running? Does it have high pass filters for the door speakers? If so, set them for 80hz to clean things up. If not, consider installing them in-line to cut out some of the very LF's and clean up your sound.

The other consideration is how clean you HU amp might be? If not powerful enough, you will get distortion as the amp becomes loaded from the speakers.
I'm running a Pioneer HU with 50x4 amp and it is as clean as can be.

Harness

I have spoken with a company here in the US which has said they made a harness for the HHR. One is in transit to me, and a few dozen on hold incase I want them. Going to test it out when it gets here. Got my Jensen VM9410 in 05/02 before I left for STL, it sounds great! Will get some pics uploaded when I get a chance.

Got the harness in today and it does work however it didn't come with the GM Lan pigtail. I'm going to Circuit City or Bestbuy for the pigtail I purchased originally to see if I can wire it up. If it does work, I'll see what I can do about some pictures and details.

Believe so Lee. With the harness I have, you wire the GM Lan pigtail from say an '06 Trailblazer/Maxx/Tahoe/Etc. to the headunit harness and to the aftermarket harness.

Had to work on my days off. 7 days a week at 14-16 hours a day does't leave my much time to tinker. I apologize for any troubles my tardiness may create. I'm not always the best person to count on outside of work sadly. Still trying to make time.
