I followed the step-by-step instructions from the first post and everything worked like a charm. Thanks for all that info! Will post pictures of the sub box we built later.

I would still have a question: How would you hook up a capacitor on that same setup? And will that help from draining the battery?

If your talking about running the system with eng off, nothing helps,,batt way too small..cap is good for curing dimming lights on heavy heavy bass hits...on a good day the stock system will kill a battery.

Do your self a favor and take your car to a privately ownned sound shop. For God's sake , don't go to a "big Box store" Check out my gallery for my install.

Why would I go to a shop of any size when I have been installing my own systems since the 80's?

Can I stream BT audio from phone to HHR?

I have a 2009 HHR 2LT w/BT and OnStar.
Can I stream BT to radio from phone?

Phone pairs just fine for phone calls. That works great. Unable to stream BT audio from the phone.

Any comments?

So I have just the basic sound system that comes into the 1LT. Does anyone know if this will have the wires that this guide states to tap into? Or would it just be easier to take my gear to an audio shop and have them wire everything?
I have the factory HU in, and dont really have any plans of putting an aftermarket in.
