I'm installing Auto-Vox CS-2 X in a 2011

I'm installing Auto-Vox CS-2 X in a 2011

I don't have a picture in the monitor. I had a picture in the monitor on the mock-up bench test and in the mock-up -vehicle test. But not now after I have mounted the camera on the back of the lift gate where I want it, run the cable inside and thur the lift gate to the outside. Ran the cable in black electric wire protector coil. Then around the top of the rear glass window. Thur the metal of the inter-roof, back into the rear of the cabin. Mounted the antenna to the top of the molded roof panel.

I'm not getting a picture in the monitor. The engine can be off or running with vehicle in neutral, brakes backup lights are working as they should be. There is power to the brake lights, and backup lights.

Any idea why the camera/monitor is not working as it in the top bench test?

NO....NO....NO ....it was because the guy that had the testing equipment I was useing hadn't tested it to determine if it was in good working condition. Because I've been using it without success for a couble of long days.

But this morning I thought I should test the equipment I was using to do the testing of what I had already installed in the car. I pulled everything out of the car and layed it out and hooked it up...... that was when I found the problem....one of the clips I was using to connect the positive wires together was DEAD!

So I fixed that connection and ....PTL it works like it was suppose to!!

I won't use that guys testing equipment again without testing it first, that's for sure!!

Hope that put a smile and laugh in your day.

Doug, from Prescott, AZ....

I took it from the positive side of the wires going to the light blub. The ground was from a ground inside the metal car framing at the tail lights. I biggest problem really was I didn't check that the testing wires and clips worked correctly. My fault...

Go ahead, back up!! You have a camera and screen to assist you! But still turn you head to check your blind spots!
