iPod hook-up

Got my iPod hook-up cable from Radio Shack. I got the shorter of the two lengths. They had 1' & 6' (I think).

looks like a 3' or a 2' to me (1' is really short an your cable would not coil like that at that length). I wanted a 1' bad, but it was a lot harder to find. Opted not getting it and at some point (probably when i stop paying for XM) i will get the PIE cable which is an audio jack on one end, a springy coiled style cable, and then the 30pin dock connector on the other end.

The most interesting part of this shot to me is your window switch area, never saw the setup for a panel. At first i was confused where your buttons went, then i figured it out.

the pie cable:

I have a 3 or 4 foot cable and it's the perfect length to sit an ipod touch in the front cup holder.

How short would you like it?

7cm? 20cm? Retractable? Besides the retractable, 7cm is the shortest I have seen, that is around 2.75". 20cm is around 8 inches. Radtech is a good company. You don't want to go with the $1 cables you see on amazon or ebay, etc, not if you like sound quality. Plus you can get them in black. The PIE is the only one i have found that goes dock to 3.5mm jack, in black, that isn't super long.

I have the three foot and six foot cord. When I'm in the car alone, I use the three foot. When the kids are in the car, I use the six so they can pick out songs from the ipod, also.
