Ipod Ready cd decks

I'm probably gonna get another deck so It's easier for my amp setup and just so it looks nicer. I still need to keep my ipod capabilities and I'm getting confused as always. Most of them say adapter required. It looks to me like its hooked up in the back and you can run the 3.5mm input wherever you want. (which is a good thing because I won't have the wire running from the middle of my dash to my ipod, I could run it by the cup holders and there wouldnt be any wires) If anyone knows how the adapters work I'd love the info. This is the cd deck I am wanting to get.

Kenwood's new units just require the Ipod to Kenwood bus plug, probably around $50 or so.

Most new radio's that are Ipod ready either require a cable, or an interface. The new Panasonic's, Alpine's, Clarions, require just a cable. The Pioneer units require an interface module, which runs around $120 IIRC.

Out of all of the units that are Ipod capable, Clarion and Alpine have the best interfacing IMO. I haven't used the Kenwood's with the Ipod interface, but the Pioneer Ipod interface just plain sucks. The radio will only display 8 letters of either the song/artist/genre and is slow as hell to load.

USB is for a flash drive.

None of them will have a RCA-->3.5, unless you want to go through the aux. You won't be able to control the Ipod through the radio, however.

If you go with the interface and pick up the cable, you'll have control of your Ipod through the radio. Depending on the brand of radio, you'll be able to scroll through playlists, artists, songs, etc. from the radio.

I'd definitely suggest getting a radio and going with the ipod interface route...makes controlling the ipod much easier IMO.

Thats the thing. I have a 20g rocbox , not an actual ipod. So the rca > 3.5mm would work for me? I don't mind controlling it via the mp3 player. It's what I do now and it doesn't bother me at all.

The rca's with the tag on them are the aux in rcas. Its what the tag says its just kinda of hard to see in the pic.
