If the head unit says iPod compatible, it will control the iPod without having to use the touchwheel on the front. You have to buy an adaptor that plugs into the dock connector for the head unit to control it. I have a second generation iPod (paid 1/2 price new!) that doesn't have the dock so I can only use an aux jack also. My only problem is when I want to find a particular song. It's kind of hard to look at the screen and browse the library while driving. That's why I generally keep it on shuffle or just use the playlist.

Ok, Now that I know that will work I'm gonna go ahead and buy one. Will anyone list what I need. Like what adapters and what not that I need. I want to keep my chimes just b/c twice so far its made me from looking like a retard for an extended amount of time by telling me to turn of my blinker. :)

Does Scosche or any other manufacturer make a wiring harness yet?

Do you meen a pig tail to plug into the factory wiring harness or a chime adapter? I don't think either are out but I could be wrong. I just splice into the factory wiring, screw harnesses.

I haven't seen anything new for the 06 GM's in my Metra cataloge.

You could pick up a Metra GM-RC01 and if you have some electrical prowess you can attempt to wire in the included chime interface...

Last time I checked Crutchfield, there were no available adapters for the HHR. If nothings changed, you may have to tap into the factory harness.

BTW...How much coin for the head unit? Are you going to have to get a second mortgage on the house?

We will have Scosche's GM LAN interface for sale on our site as soon as it is completed.

Whenever that will be...
