Well, here we go....
It seems that the back doors of mine has the delete (blank) on them. Don't laugh, but I never noticed because I don't listen to the radio loud, and I never sit in the back seat. Then, yesterday while opening the rear door, I noticed that both speaker grills were not present, and the solid circles were in place. The same thing with the cargo sub.
So, my question is: Is there any reference to where I can purchase these 3 grills? I'm also wondering if there is no amp installed (possibly factory not equipped all of them?). Is there an easy way to tell if there is an amp present, and if these are deleted, does anyone know if that means there are no speaker wires present and/or harness to the rear doors and sub slot??
Thanks in advance!
If there's no rear sub, there would be no reason for amp to be there.
Not sure about the wires. Chances are they would not be there either, unless they were part of a common harness. (meaning all models got the same harness, regardless of configuration)
Looks like your HHR has a very "basic" (low-option) radio. I'd bet there are no speakers in the rear doors or in the back (sub location).
You can buy generic grill covers (no logo) for the rear doors (6.5") and the subwoofer location (8"). The solid covers remove without much effort.
Might as well upgrade all your speakers, head unit, and add a subwoofer and amp. Run all new wiring so the stereo is a "stand-alone" unit.
This will be your beat result. Crutchfield has everything you'll need.
Then again, if you don't listen to the radio much, just enjoy your truck as-is.

But everyone needs a radio to drown out knocking and rattles...lol

This is good to know about the Amp. I didn't realize that the Amp was just a single channel. I assumed that it was an amp for the whole system. I thought perhaps that the amp would be standard. I guess the only way to find out at this point is to pop open the tail light service door and look in with a flashlight. I'm hoping that they use a common harness like the other cars I've had in the past have. I was just hoping to only have to pull the panel once, rather than pulling it to check, then having to pull it again once I attain all the parts.
