*crickets* ----

Well, I guess that answers my question. Everyone is using their phones now.

I have this one. One end plugs into the lighter, the other end holds the GPS on an articulated arm so it is adjustable. I bought a 1 ft. cable at Radio Shack that plugs into the side of the GPS and into the AUX jack on the dash so I can hear the voice instructions though the radio and control the volume from the steering wheel. You can switch between the radio and the GPS by pressing the Band and AUX buttons. The only problem I had was that road vibration would cause the arm to work loose from the lighter socket. A little duct tape around the outside of the plug cured the problem.

The best feature is that it is convenient. It quickly comes off and fits into the glove compartment and leaves no hint that there may be a GPS worth stealing inside.

Thanks for your hookup idea, oldpanman1. My hubby can figure that out for me, once I figure out what to buy for a GPS. I love the switching idea from the steering wheel.

You're Welcome

You're welcome. Note that you have to press the Band/Aux buttons on the radio, but can raise and lower the volume from the steering wheel. I usually keep the radio on, then as I get close to my next turn (Garmin tells me how far I am away) I switch to AUX to hear the instructions. That way if I have several turns in quick succession, I don't have to look at the GPS and, just listen.
