New Stereo and Alarm installed

i got the new Pioneer Premier DEH680MP and 4 new Memphis door speakers along with a new Autopage 860 fm paging system...

let me tell you about the problems our cars have, i'm sure most of you already know that when you change the HU out you loose all of your chimes and 10 minute radio off with no key. they told me that there is no way to mount the stock HU somewhere else in the car to to continue to get those options to work..fine, i am ok with that till the LAN interface comes out. it took my local stereo shop 4 days to put all this in and spent most of there time on the alarm. the local shop did me right and i am very happy with the work and care that they took with my baby! shout out to Autosound Lab, Fresno CA. I had to have a spare key put in a module inside the dash and left there to get the remote start to work on the alarm system. had a key at dealer made and programed $45.00. i did this so i only have one remote and not have to carry two remotes around. the alarm that i got is the one that will page me when someone trips the alarm. it beeps and vibrates on the remote and tells me what has happend to my car. This alarm has remote start, inside temp reading and i am able to start my car from over twice the distance than the stock one was able to. my stock remote still sets the stock alarm and unlocks the doors but now no longer will remote start. so if i wanted to i could have both alarms on the car set...

and btw: if you get a key at the dealer with just vin the key still needs to have the transponder programed. first the original key must be put in the ingnition and then the new key put in and turned five times to program the new one.

Nice looking HU, congrats! Isn't that a pain leaving the HHr for so many days! Mine will be almost 2 weeks in the shop, I have forgotten what it rides like!

Man that sounds like a lot of headache just for an aftermarket alarm. My stereo install was enough headache for me, I think I'll leave my alarm stock...
