Front Row

I love the idea, should work out real well under the seat, looking forward to seeing the setup. I'm looking to do a similar setup in my living room using Front Row to do dvd/mp3 through the stereo.

about the touchscreen - my personal experince is that you're going to be hard pressed to find a good one under $250. i spent 2 months scouring the internet for anything cheaper than the Lilliputs and found some off brand for about $180, but didn't feel very at ease about dropping that amount of money on a product with zero customer reviews. my advice - save up for a Lilliput off ebay; that's where i ended up getting mine, and i'm very pleased with it.

also, just curious, are you dead-set on using Mac hardware? if you went with a PC setup, you'd end up spending less, which could help free up some funds. but hey, if you want to stick with Mac, then more power to you.

have you been to the MP3Car forums yet?

the measurements of the mac mini are listed on the first pic I posted on this thread. There are only two models of mac minis, one is a single 1.5, and a 1.6 dual core. I will be running sound off the sound card, connecting it to the aux input of my new HU.

Matthew, I already have the mini a while back so I decided on using it just because the hardware is already here. Good thing about the mini is that I can run OSX or WINXP on the new intel minis. I just like the fact that if I cant find any good OSX frontend software to run my machine I can always install XP and try some windows apps. Thanks for the mp3car forum link. That's actually the first site I checked a year ago before carputers were a common thing.

good to hear. i know they'll be tons more helpful at the MP3Car forums, but if you've got any questions about installing in the HHR, don't hesitate to ask me.
