Pioneer AVIC-F90BT

I'm having a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT installed in my 2006 HHR this weekend. Is there any way of bypassing the device that prohibits the ability to watch a video on the headunit while driving. On my older Pioneer unit I installed a switch I would flip and it would allow me to see the video.

I believe its the same as on the D3, you move the mute wire down 1 and over 3, then ground that wire and the park brake wire. You HAVE to do that or use the park brake wire otherwise you can even set up the unit properly. Just installed an F70BT in a friends Balt last weekend

it works like a charm

thanks guys for all the information. I moved the yellow/black wire to the new slot and grounded both yellow/black and light green (emergency brake wire) wires.

Post up if you have any problems with that. I went the software mod route and modified the config file on my F900BT. My method only requires you to ground the parking brake wire and modify the config file. So far it's been OK, but it did randomly pop up the warning one time.

does your i-pod stay charged when connected overnight? My i-pod goes dead after one day on non-usage. Should the deck keep a constant charge? On my wifes older pioneer deck it keeps the charge. I'm not sure if its just that i need to replace the battery in the i-pod or if there is something connected wrong.

Hmm... not sure. I don't leave mine connected to the head unit. I take it in the house and into work and charge it there while I'm either listening to it or updating music.
