question on bridging

I put a jl audio 8wo in the stock sub location and hooked it up to a jl audio e1200 amp. Now my question how do you bridge just the one sub, cause the amps rated at 175w X 1 @4 ohms, and it can be bridged to get 275w X 1 @ 2ohms, so im wondering if brigding it would give any more power, and if its possible just to brigde that one sub, thanxs.

the way that you are going to get 275w at 2 ohm is if your sub has a final load of 2 ohms. which would mean if you had a dual 4ohm sub and you hooked both of the positives together and both negatives together you would get a final load of 2 ohms. if your sub is a single voice coil and it is rated at 4 ohms then you would only have a final load, with this one sub, of four ohms. Since 8W0's only come in a single 4 or 8 ohm configuration, you are only going to have a 4 or 8 ohm final load. more than likely you have a 4 ohm, so you are only going to get 175 watts out of that amp.

that amp is just fine for that sub, if you put more than 125-175 to that sub you will not be covered under jl audio warrenty. that amp is almost a perfect match for a 8W0.

I agree, its a nice improvement over the stock setup, i mean it sounds great, i just want a smidge more bass, but for just a single 8', i really cant complain.

try to step up to a 8W3v2-D4 that will be a dual 4 ohm sub that you can get a 2 ohm final load.

Only bad thing about that is the mounting depth is a little deeper, so id have to make another spacer to fit but i dunno, im still unsure if i should do that or not ?

try looking at the kicker cvr 8 or the audiobaun 8. make sure you get a dual 4 ohm sub. there is a member on here, dont remember his name, that has a kicker cvr 8, and captian howdy went with a audiobaun 8.

Also, im trying to find what sounds best on the amp as for as settings go. Should i set the filter to OFF-HP-LP ? I know lp is for the low frequency and bass stuff. Just curious to see what i should do, what do yall think ?
