None of the above.
I have an Alpine in my HHR but I recently installed a Pioneer deck in my kids Acura, and I have to say that the Pioneer decks is the way to go.
Depending on which model you buy, you're most likely going to spend less than $200. The one I bought my kid has an aux plug up front so you can hook up an Ipod/Mp3 player. It also has 3 RCA's for multiple amp setups. Since the unit was satellit radio ready, I bought the Sirius add-on tuner and it works like a champ with the Sirius info on the deck's display. You can also add a similar Ipod hook up so your controls are on the deck's display.
I'm not sure if you have steering wheel controls, but the unit I bought has a plug in the back of the deck so you can hook up a PAC adapter and have full steering wheel controls of your deck. Unless you go with a PAC adapter with the IR style eye, you're going to lose your steering wheel controls.
And finally I planned on installing an amp with sub for my kids ride but after hearing it I changed my mine. It was plenty loud. The unit comes with enough power that I didn't feel it was neccesary to install an amp. I hooked up Infinity 6x9's in the rear and dual voice 6.5's on the door and it sounds like it is a multiple amp setup. It is clear and has enough thumb to forget about adding an amp. Of course if it would've been for me I would've added an amp
I bought my kid the 3000 model at Best Buy for I think $130. Well worth it and my next deck purchase for myself will be a Pioneer.
