I don't care to lose the chimes and would be happy to not have to hear the seatbelt warning--its annoying most of the time. i just don't want to lose my lights when i turn off the car to get out or when i use my remote key at night. i don't think that will happen but i wanted to ask for sure. i don't have onstar, so that wasn't a big deal.

to the guy above this post, i think what was meant is that it could be a bad mistake for me since i am not an expert hardwiring person.

done!

I installed my DVD/MP3/CD aftermarket headunit! I'll take pictures and show you guys as soon as I can.

I am done, but I forgot to wire the break wire. I didn't realize that I had to put the break wire with the ground in order to watch dvd while driving (not that I am going to)...but you guys think you can use the toggle switch for where the fog lights are supposed to go as a break wire toggle switch instead? just an idea if anyone out there used that spot for anything other than the foglight (my HHR doesn't have foglights)...

...well there were two threads with similar subjects and i had posted in both b4 with different questions. no harm done.

if yah got the point, yah sure didn't answer.

anyone use the foglight toggle switch/spot in their own modified/customized feature instead of the fog lights?

could have reported you...took the higher route. BTW i did use that switch portion you speak of. now post pics!

You might contact Crutchfield. They have a harness its Pac C2R GM11 that is Suppose to keep all the chimes and bells. Email me if you purchase one and it works. PLZ.

well hell i didn't know it was against rules to post in two threads that has same subjects that i had posted before with similar themes (but two different topics). i guess i'll have to actually peruse the Terms and Agreements. LOL.

So let me get this straight... I need some sort of on-star harness to keep that and all the chimes.. I need a swi to keep the buttons for the steering wheel and I need a mounting kit. Tell me though, who makes a mounting kit that blends in with the dash really well. I dont want something that is the wrong shade of grey.

If you have On-star you will need the Metra GMOS-LAN-04. Bought mine off the web for $111.
