Sub enclosure??

How much would you expect to pay for a sub enclosure like this to be built?

(If the link doesn't work, I mean ng8650's setup.)

All I want is a box that cleanly fits the width of the cargo space and against the back of the seats. For a 12", and ported. On average, how much would you expect to pay for an enclosure like this to be built (not installed)?

Thanks,
M

I think ng8650 did all his own work. You may want to shoot him an PM and ask.
Another thing you might do is print a photo and take it to a local shop to see they would charge. I am sure if you have the know how you can do it alot cheaper than they will charge.

Yea... I could draw it up on AutoCad, then build it myself. I just gotta take the measurements and stuff.. I described to the shop what I wanted, and they said it would be anywhere from $300 up (but this is from the people that said the stock tint on the hhr was 20% )... I could do it if it was a sealed box, but I thought the port made different calculations on dimensions and stuff???

I will be honest I am not sure about any of the calculations but I do belive your right that with the port it does change things. Reason I say this is because when I was geting my stuff installed they were getting ready to build a new box for someone and they were talking about how things are calculated different since the box was going to have a port.
I would guess from what your wanting that price seems low, so I might stay away from that shop.

No... I'm pretty sure the link not working is more than likely something I did wrong with it. I can still go look at your pics. So NG, did you build your own or ??? I never did pm you like I was gonna.

Actually, the factory tint is 21% in the rear and 35% in the front, so i'd say those people seem to know what's going on. I think it really depends on the builder if you can get a good deal and or if your buddies with them. I've had a box build by a builder who was a buddy and i got a resin built box with dynomat and color matched carpet on a car of mine a while back for 150$, so that my opinion.
